The book was okay overall, but seriously? I can’t stand it when characters say I love you after just a few dates. An engagement at that point completely ruined it for me. Not only does it feel unrealistic, it also doesn’t fit Theo’s character at all. He can’t even tell her he’s about to lose his job, but somehow a proposal is no problem? That just doesn’t add up. I’m genuinely annoyed. This dropped my rating from 3 stars to 2.
