Karen Kallmaker has a fluid writing style and her stories always grab me right away. It is after an encounter with interesting women, their thoughts, feelings, inner struggles and longings and their development in them! In addition, there is an insight into different living environments and topics, in this book about the effects of politics, religion and the particularly exciting influence of women on history in the Middle Ages... Definitely worth hearing, also thanks to Abby Cradens wonderful reading again!

Having grown up in a very Catholic environment, the book hits home! It’s truly self explanatory. A cute easy story line, bit far fetched, but it does address the issues that many gay people face from religious institutions and attitudes. I hope the world will change, but sadly the way it’s all going now, it’s maybe and sadly a utopia.
