..well.. first the good things. The narrator is great. I really liked the main protagonist Aspen. I am a huge nerd too, so I was really along for the story. The author is very good and I already read other stories, and she knows how to write a person. I enjoyed the learning to know phase of the story and how Aspen connected with Cate and her daughter. Maybe I expected something else in the middle of the book. And that is my problem with it..
Of course there must have been some break and something for the characters to grow but I found the way Cate handled it was terrible. Yes, she was hurt in the former relationship and had trust issues, but should have worked on them too! She was very hurtful to Aspen and that spoiled the story for me so much. Especially because she came out of a terrible toxic relationship with a narcisist, she should have been aware of not stringing someone along and using them, just to dump her and put it all on Aspen. It was all about her and how she wanted things and I wasnt really having it.
When you can overlook that, the book is good. So I just didnt like the love interest :P
