The story is very well written. The two main characters are well-developed. But Abby Craden?! Not only is she one of the best narrators of our time, she's also perfect for this book! As always, it's a joy to listen to her.

......aber es ist schon eine fesselnde Geschichte und die Charactere sind hervorsehbar aber sehr gut dargestellt. Abby Craden ist bekannt dafür die Stimmen genau zu treffen, mann erkennt natürlich ihren Style, aber dass macht die Vorlesung so gut.
Man lebt sich in das Buch ein und hört jede freie Minute zu...... natürlich muss man Teil 2 hören ......

A gripping and original take on a classical trope. Fantastic in every way and a breath of fresh air in the genre! I absolutely loved it.

I love Abby Craden but her British accent (sounds like Oliver Twist) and German accent (sounds like a random foreign person) are terrible! But she’s still my favourite narrator.

Not just the standard lesbian romance

Well… apparently I enjoy watching two intelligent women make absolutely terrible emotional decisions for several hours. 😂

This book has everything I apparently need in life: strong personalities, ridiculous chemistry, unresolved feelings, tension, drama, and enough slow burn to make me question my patience.

The chemistry between the main characters is fantastic, and the banter is just chef’s kiss. There were several moments when I wanted to scream at my headphones:

“JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER! IT’S NOT THAT HARD!” 😂

Of course, nobody listens to me. Because why solve a problem with one honest conversation when you can create 300 pages of emotional chaos instead?

The story kept me hooked, the characters were easy to get invested in, and the tension was absolutely worth the wait.

Was I occasionally frustrated? Yes.
Did I dramatically sigh at my headphones? Also yes.
Did I enjoy every minute of it? Absolutely.

5/5/5 — great chemistry, great slow burn, plenty of drama, and just enough emotional damage to keep things interesting.

Would happily do it all over again. :)
