AN IMPOSSIBLE LOVE. AN ENCHANGED LEGACY. A DANGEROUS DISCOVERY.

The stunning conclusion to Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling What the River Knows. A lush immersive historical fantasy set in Egypt filled with adventure, and a rivals-to-lovers romance like no other!

1885, Egypt: Inez Olivera is left reeling from her cousin Elvira's murder, and her mother's betrayal, and when Tío Ricardo issues an ultimatum about her inheritance, she's left with only one option to consider.

Marriage to Whitford Hayes.

Former British soldier, her uncle's aide de camp, and one time nemesis, Whit has his own mysterious reasons for staying in Egypt. With her heart on the line, Inez might have to bind her fate to the one person whose secret plans could ruin her.©2024 Isabel Ibañez

PRAISE FOR ISABEL IBAÑEZ
Take a plucky heroine, a historically grounded Indiana Jones-esque adventure through Ancient Egypt, and add a surprising dollop of magic - it's a recipe for a delightful read
Fast-paced yet lyrical, with twists that keep you flying through the pages while Ibañez's evocative prose makes you want to savor every sun-drenched paragraph, What the River Knows is a truly enchanting work of storytelling. All the stars
Expertly plotted, explosively adventurous, and burning with romance
Luminous and enchanting, What the River Knows gleams with dangerous secrets, a clever heroine, ancient tombs, and a mystery that readers will be eager to unravel. A romantic, spellbinding adventure
The well-paced plot encompasses many fresh, new adventures and betrayals in this reimagined historical setting in which ancient magic abounds and not everyone or everything is what it seems. Even more captivating, however, is the complicated, nuanced love story between Whit and Inez. Their chemistry sizzles, but their relationship is achingly layered with both profound loyalty and deep deception. As their journey unearths new enemies and priceless archaeological finds, the duo must try to trust each other enough to survive. A thrilling, beautifully written page-turner.
More danger and intrigue lurk at every turn in this exciting duology closer... A thrilling, beautifully written page-turner.
Magic is in the air!
I found this a thoroughly satisfying conclusion to a most enjoyable tale. I recommend these two books as a rewarding read at the intersection of fantasy, romance, and historical fiction

With a good touch of laugh and burn
I really liked it
I’m a little bit sad. It’s not a trilogy.

Loved this

I had high hopes for this book based on its promising description, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The storyline was weak and lacked depth, making it hard to stay engaged. Also frustrating were the characters—poorly developed and constantly making the same bad decisions over and over again. Overall, not worth reading.

Disappointing
