    Inhaltsangabe

The impossible has happened. The Lord Ruler is dead. But so too is Kelsier, the man who masterminded the triumph. The awesome task of rebuilding the world has been left to his protege Vin - a onetime street urchin, now the most powerful Mistborn in the land. Worryingly for her, Vin has become the focus of a new religion, a development that leaves her intensely uneasy. More worryingly still, the mists have become unpredictable since the Lord Ruler died, and a strange vaprous entity is stalking Vin. As the siege of Luthadel intensifies, the ancient legend of the Well of Ascension offers the only glimmer of hope. But no-one knows where it is or what it can do....

    Pretty boring

I liked the first book in the series, but the second one is pretty boring. There's hardly any variance in the story and it's written pretty lazily like obvious traps, introducing characters that lack personality and just act as a tool for the plot.

the reading was phenomenal, but the book was meh. heteronormative, fairly boring structure, ok writing.

Good but drags on in parts.

Not as good as the first book. Especially as an audio book it has a few parts that drag on. Mostly descriptions of fight scenes that seem to last forever compared to the actual plot. That being said, I still enjoyed it and it's worth listening to.
My biggest gripe is with the narrator. He's very good but he chose to give Vin a voice that makes her sound as if she's going to burst into tears any second, feable and weak. Almost whiny. I don't think it fits the character but it's not going to keep me from enjoying the story.

    Interesting, but drags on

First things first: the narration is amazing, stellar, 10/10. Real good reader.

The story and lore is strong on this one but the story drags on a lot. The characters are mostly static and just dealing with politics and arguments and psychological issues.

It all gets much better in the end, when the story finally unfolds. However the ending completely leads to the next book.

If this had been the first book in the series I would have abandoned it. But now that I'm here, it was interesting to hear.

story is cool, gender stereotypes meh

I really enjoyed the story. But the gender stereotypes used in it are rather unnecessary. In my opinion, it doesn't add anything useful and interesting to it.

    Great story, wonderful narration

The second book of the Mistborn series has many more twists, turns and surprises than I had expected. What a marvelous story!

Michael Kramer's narration is stellar. He truly brings the story to life, with the wide spectrum of voices and accents he is able to use for all the different characters. Very much worth the listen!

    Fairly boring story

Sanderson presents a fairly sophomoric understanding of relationships, yet relationships is the heart of the story. I wished the book was about adults facing adult problems. While I generally like stories about learning, growing up, etc, this book offers no insight nor demonstrates more than a passing understanding of life, the universe and everything.

There are some very creative monsters. But the story is uninspired.

    Resets to beginning

The story stops in the middle and resets to the start. Do not recommend this.
