Inhaltsangabe

The long-awaited sequel to The City and the Dungeon is finally here.

Shocked by the discoveries in the furthest reaches of the Dungeon, the City prepares to delve even deeper for answers. A surprise attack by the subterranean Undercity throws them into chaos, and a massive war soon rages throughout the Dungeon itself. The Undercity proves a wily foe, and against all odds the City finds itself struggling to gain the upper hand. And all the while, the Dungeon remains capricious, mysterious, and deadly. 

Alex Kenderman is recruited by the supreme commander of the City, Mansa Musa Red, to lend his tactical expertise to the war effort. He and his party must fight against Underdwellers and the Dungeon itself to obtain victory, before it is too late. But two sinister questions remain: Why did the Undercity start the war? 

And who will win it?

Noooo the narrator changed!

It is unfair towards the new reader of the story but changing a narrator within a series is unacceptable for me. I love the city and the dungeon audiobook I listened to it 5 times already, so the voice of the reader Doug Tisdale Jr. is a very important part of the atmosphere and the characters for me. Changing the narrator is like swapping the actors of Frodo and Gandalf between the movies of Lotr 1 and 2 ... it feels sooo wrong! Even if the new narrator does a great job.

I now have to hope they re-release this audiobook (unlikely) or at least bring Doug Tisdale Jr. back for the 3rd volume if that will be the case I will come back for the series and only read book 2.

I love the first audiobook so much and waited so long for this one but now my heartstone is shattered!

Still awsome book, can't wait for book3
