Der letzte Band der ersten Triologie ließ mich enttäuscht zurück und ich war zögerlich ein weiteres Buch von Mark Lawrence zu hören. Ich bin froh, dass ich der zweiten Triologie eine Chance gegeben habe, denn Mr. Lawrence tut etwas, was ich in dieser Art noch nie gesehen habe. In der zweiten Triologie greift er lose Fäden aus der ersten Triologie auf. Durch die Augen eines neuen "Helden" erleben wir nun eine andere Seite der Geschichte und erfahren mehr über Geschehnisse, die in der ersten Triologie im Dunkeln blieben. Das versöhnt mich auch ein wenig mit dem Ende der Geschichte um unseren hitzköpfigen Helden der ersten Triologie.
