It was a wonderfully written book full of reflexion that kept questioning the world in which takes place.

Notice the afterword, it points out the utter brilliance of this book.
I read it for the first time, close to 20y ago. Back then, I got a mere glimpse at the deeper meaning of this book. Now, hearing it again, after I transitioned, and fully relating to it, I can see what I had almost grasped back then. But dissociated away, out of fear.

Eine wunderbare Geschichte. Fügt sich schön in das Universum und die bisherige Reihe ein und hat mich bis zum Ende mitgenommen.

What I most enjoyed was recognising references between this story and other fantasy books. On general though, I enjoyed the story and how it was read. Particularly the end was good.

A story about vulnerability and strength, full of insight and compassion. It also overthrows some of the classik fantasy sterotypes. Must read.

By far the least well written book of the Earthsea Cycle. The characters sound like broken records, repeating the same questions over and over (this was so bad it almost made me quit, I kept wishing they could just get to the point already), the lovestory comes out of nowhere and the most interesting topic was almost not touched upon. All in all I was so happy when it was finally over.

This is not the Earthsea of the first trilogy, not for me anyway. People might argue, I was simply disappointed and had to force myself to continue listening. The narrator was not convincing, too.
