Other books of this author weren't as predictable as this one. I guessed the outcome in the first quarter of the book. Nonetheless it is a nice and easy book.

The love story and the amnesia aren't very realistic, though.

This book is not your typical JL, but it's one of his best. The story is well thought out, has no plotholes and is captivating as always. However, this is the first time the reader knows more than the protagonist. About halfway through you're already quite sure (and right) about the answer to the main question, but all surrounding circumstances remain a mystery until the end. So, in a way it's anti-climactic but that doesn't make it boring or predictable. It's kind of amusing, sometime painful, to see the protagonist figure out the things you already know.
All in all, a very nice read, but I'm not sure whether or not I like this approach to the storyline. Again, but: It fit the story and made it more realistic, a big revelation at the end would have been kind of too much.
Jeremy York reads the book nicely, characters are easily distinguished and his voice is very pleasent, not affected or otherwise exaggerated (not like some reades who end every second sentence on a sigh, whether the line calls for it or not).
