At 30 years old, Phil is an unemployed gamer who struggles to make ends meet. His only source of income is freelance writing (when he feels inspired enough to add another article to his less-than-popular blog). His wife has just walked out on him, leaving him without money, purpose, or food in the fridge.

On the day his wife dumps him, Phil receives a mysterious piece of wetware. A game interface seems to have been implanted in his brain, which allows him to see the world through the eyes of an RPG player.

Now that Phil discovers his real-life stats, he can see they're far below average. With 4 pt. Agility, 6 pt. Strength, and 3 pt. Stamina, his most advanced life skill is predictably gaming.

Luckily, real-life stats can be leveled up just like virtual ones. But will it help Phil get his wife back? Can he stop being such a couch potato? Would the new game help him become fitter? Or more successful? Can his gaming skills finally come in handy in real life?

Last but not least, can he find out who could have uploaded the mysterious game to his brain? And how is he supposed to deal with this unknown but apparently omnipotent force?

Ich mag das Hörbuch, den Erzählstil (abgesehen vllt von ein paar zu vielen Status-Aufzählungen) und den Sprecher sehr gern. Ich würde diesem Buch gern die 5-Sterne-Bewertung geben, die es verdient, aber es geht nicht. Das Hörbuch lässt sich via Alexa nicht sinnvoll beenden, weil es sich automatisch neu startet und wenn ich Alexa stromfrei mache, um das Abspielen abzubrechen, springt er ein paar Minuten zurück, die erneut gehört werden müssen. Dazu kommt, dass das Hörbuch sich über die Hörzeit mehrfach verschluckt.

The first 2 books are easy listening with an interesting enough story and good literpg.
Unfortunately in book 3 the author totally lost it, so don't expect an thought through ending.
Not on the same level as V. Mahanenko

I guess there's one good Russian lit rpg series out there. The premise is ingenious. The protagonist... grows on you surprisingly fast. The story is undoubtedly Russian, but refreshingly lacking in both the homophobia and mysoginy departments. I look forward to see if the writer messes up the sequel. I hope not. Disclaimer: This story is clearly meant for a more mature audience. (Less hunting goblins in exchange for modern challenges.) I personally enjoyed it very much.

Gegenwart statt Mittelalter
Lebensverbesserung im Alltag statt ein neues Leben in einer Fiktiven Welt
der Start eines "From Zero to Hero" Abenteuers ohne echte Gegner oder Feinde, als vielmehr Missverständnisse und schlechte Umstände.
Es gibt spannendere Bücher, aber dieses hier war trotzdem unterhaltsam und hat mich angenehm berührt.

I read all books of the level-up series and I must say, it is one of best LitRPG series available! Trust me, I read nearly all of them...

Story and plot is perfect (for me) and surprised me how good it worked.
It should be a must read to any online game addicted - there is so many more in re-life and I admit, heaving a level progress bar always in your view, would help to make you a better person ;-)

That's all I want disclose from the story. In: Short buy it, read it and enjoy it!

One of the best LitRPG series available

In this story, the 32 years old Philipp got the "Interface" on the same day, his wife let him. He is a loser, and an unsuccessful writer and addicted Wold of Warcraft gamer. The interface informs him about the consequences of his doings (e.g. he takes damage if he smokes). He also gets rewarded if he performs social meaningful actions, like working, by learning new skills and leveling up. It is great to see how Philipp uses the interface in the real world and needs to hide it from the other people. He slowly progresses, he finds a job in Sales and starts to earn money and help people around him. He understands his failures of the past, reconciles with his sister and parents. Furthermore, he started to work out and is busy all the time. I enjoyed the book a lot, sometimes feeling the urge to work out or improve myself too.
A great story, I recommend listening to it.
