For many long years, the ork warlord known as the Overfiend of Octarius has bedevilled the Imperium, ruling his alien empire in the heart of the Emperor's realm.

This book starts to get more interesting after a third and then, all of a sudden, just gets worse by the minute. The finale, the third part, starts depicting Salamanders by showing infantile infighting and then quickly changing to telling the story from the blandest perspective possible, a Techmarine, permanently pointing out his soullessness and disconnection from his former brothers. Worst was chapter 7 (chapters 25 and 26 in the audio book). I listened to the end, more and more pointless descriptions of unnecessary details trying to build up dread towards the most boring Orks I have ever read or heard about. The ending was did not even finish the storz, not teasing for more, but just stopping.

Overfiend - a tale on how cliches about chapters can still leave them characterless and passive.
