Dieses Buch ist eine Weltreise und hat seine Preise und Auszeichnungen wahrlich verdient.
Es ist sehr leicht zu lesen/hören, hat eine tolle Sprache, läuft einem wie ein Film vor Augen ab und man lernt noch total viel über Geschichte, Paarbeziehung, Eifersucht und Liebe, Migration, Automobilproduktion, Nation of Islam und Seidenraupenzucht!! Was für ein wilder Ritt!

This novel is engaging and entertaining; definitely worth listening to. That being said, I do feel that some passages in the past are unnecessarily long and detailed and lack some binding medium that would connect these episodes with the narrators life and fate. Also, I had hoped for much more insight into the experience of being a hermaphrodite. Instead of introspection, there is only narration. Less love of narrative detail (maybe less volume allover) and more insights into characters would have done the story a favour.
