ok story, but nothing for me

The worldbuilding is quite good, it goes a little bit overboard with the techno talk in my opinion. The story is ok, but nothing innovative, it's pretty much a house invader scenario. My main problem were the characters and the ant queen stuff. The characters were extremly bland in my opinion, even the protagonist was throughout most of the story just some formless blob of self pitty:"I don't want to this, but I have to...woe is me!" And queen stuff was not implemented correctly because it made absolutely no sense that almost everything that was linked to her didn't even treat her friendly, the AI went snippy even though the protagonist was trying to safe the AIs captain and the cats haggled for more food in the middle of a war that would most likely kill them all if their side lost.
