The whole marketing on this book is about the MMC AKA Cade falling for the reader, but the whole story is about those sibling's drama. Which no one's talks about us that: This book has a main story and the whole 4th is secondary and just on a few moments that happens. It takes so long until the MMC notice us and start talking to us. Completely disappointed.

Loveee the book, every time I’m included in the story, it’s so exciting. I was really curious how Hanna would be able to incorporate the reader into the story and she did a brilliant job. I became a reader and a character at the same time and it’s been awesome. But honestly, pleaseeeee just let her have Jack and Kai, girly deserves them booooth. Kai needs to learn to share 🙌🏽
SPOILER ALERT from this point:
There’s a plot hole that I’m curious how Hanna will close in the next book because I’m confused. If Kai already has Calli’s heart and they’re together, then literally all the things that Cade and Jack did to save her has gone to shiz, not to mention her living such a secluded life. All that work and suffering only to find out that the call is coming from inside the house. And I hope Cade gets his happy ending with the ghost (me 😝) without him having to die or be a ghost too.

what a start! good old tropes with nice twists (KITTY!!!), coherent story but still with possible future plot points and some wiggle room for surprises. the voice actors could have been a bit less earnest for my taste but that's maybe just me having a thing for well placed silliness.

the reader incorporation works surprisingly well, I've been sceptical but she got it just right.

but seriously, the ending is just mean. cliffhangers are so 90s TV series! let us binge!

when the hunter falls in love with the reader and a mighty and jealous demon is in love with his sister it can get a bit chaotic.
Cade gets a pendulum from his sister and falls a calming presence that he falls in love with.
trying to wait patiently for part 2 🫠♥️

supernatural 4th wall romance

Considering I started this book because I was curious about the concept of the reader/listener being the love interest, I found Cade and Our story rather lacking. I felt like the story was focused so much more on Callisto and Alabaster or Callisto in general...

I still want to listen to the next part, since this one finished in a cliffhanger but overall I felt like this book was either unfinished or simply focused too much in one direction. I would have preferred Callisto's story to be separate.
