I really liked this book, because when I picked it up, I thought I knew where this would go. But I was very wrong, and I like to be positively surprised! I liked the characters and their deviations from fantasy tropes, I like the way Skedi is handled and I like the representation for people with disabilities!

This is so very worth it. The enticing title page fully keeps its promise with an epic tale bound to become a fantasy classic. Excellent performance, too!

every single character is loveable and also gives you a bit of a headache with their choices - fantastic. the story and people in it get time to breathe and unfold without anything feeling winding and unnecessary - I've already listened to it twice and enjoy the sequels just as much
