At some points it became very annoying how the two main characters don't ask basic question from each other or say very basic things while they are very busy plotting something together.
It's not the best m/m fantasy novel I read, but now that I started I want to know where it leads. It's also a bit too slow and detailed to my liking, while the characters very macho, and at the same time the assassin would desert any mission to save an animal or a no name low rank servant. While similar rank servants seem to be easily disposable if they say a few wrong sentences or look too unloyal.
