I really enjoyed the world and the characters in it. The story was lovely although I did cry a lot. It really pulls on the heartstrings and manages to balance serious moments with humour. I also loved the ace representation. It’s rekindled my love for these kinds of stories.
The journey felt a little lost at times but that successfully conveyed the frustration of the characters on their quest.
The latter half of the romance itself could have had a little more spark or flirtation for my personal taste, but it was in keeping with the atmosphere overall.
I want to say, a joy to listen to, but that would dramatically reduce the range of emotions felt. I loved it.

The book is brilliant. A quest with gods renegate priests dragons and mages. The tone overall is funny but the story runs the gamut from hilarious to tragic.
The narrator is a bit over the top it doesn't quite fit the fantasy theme. Not bad enough not to listen but annoying at times. It detracts from the overall enjoyment.
