The MC is so funny and witty, I love that. The relationships are good and understandable and I especially found the dealing with trauma interesting and how the parts of the past slowly unfolded. Like you can believe the MC just tried so hard to tuck it away for the sake of survival. So, very interesting how the story gives fun and deep at the same time. It's an interesting balance. The world seems interesting as well but wasn't showing much other than campus life. I'd have loved to see how magic is incorporated in this alternative reality, more. Overall very good.

As soon as I realised Sara Raasch had a new book out I wanted it. I really loved A Nightmare before Kissmas and this one was equally cute.

We are going into an urban fantasy world where there are giants, halfelfs and other fun stuff and the mages enroll in university. So it's a low fantasy setting one can easily drop into.

Both Sebastian and Thio are very cute characters and I liked their stories.

There are spicy scenes and sometimes I get annoyed when this hinders getting on with the story, but I think this book had a good mid level of it.

That's it, for me. I was looking forward to Sara Raasch's new book because I adored her other books. I was disappointed though because it's way too whiny for me. It lacks the banter and funny stupidity of Nightmare before Kissmas oder Go luck yourself. It's just heavy and emotional all the time. It could have been a good story but got somehow lost in repeating the same emotions again and again and again and...you get the picture.
