After binging the skulduggery series from Derek Landy, I stumbled upon this series. While the plot is not the most original, the Narrator does a good job of making it interesting and giving every character a... Well.. Character. The story has some nice twists and isn't as straight forward as most YA series, as expected from Landy. Overall I liked the first book and will listen to the other two. If you liked other works from the author and are into hell/demons/a little bit of gore, then this is a nice read.

A nice in between Series to wait for other books

The story is amazing, the characters are diverse and very interesting and the protagonist's struggle is easy to identify with. While at times rather grafic in his description, I can't help but adore Landy's work. Combining the world we know with something outherworldy is a speciality of his and he once again proved himself a master of his craft.

I also adore Griffiths' reading style and the effort she puts into making the characters come to live. The only one I couldn't stand was Fool, because of the high screeching she incorporated into their voice, but fortunately they only appear twice.

To sum it up, I find myself once again amazed by Landy's talent and can't help but recommend this book for anyone in love with fantastically dark stories.
