Revellers are flocking into Greenborough for the yearly Dark Greenborough Festival, a three-day event celebrating local folklore, superstition, and the darker side of life.

What the public doesn't know is that there has been a warning sent to the police, saying that Greenborough will be a very dangerous place this year. The anonymous letter ends with the Latin phrase, Mors certa, hora incerta: Death is certain, the hour uncertain.

DI Nikki Galena and her team soon discover this is no hoax, as people start dying from what appears to be alcoholic poisoning. Things rapidly escalate, and as the deaths get more horrific, Nikki realizes they have a serial killer in their midst.

I've only recently fallen in love with the series and listened to all the books in a very short amount of time. I still enjoyed this installment, but I do think it left a little to be desired. First of all, not enough Vonny, and second, the plot left me wanting more. For lack of a better word, it is a bit lame. It lacks depth. Also every now now and then the writing, mostly the dialogue, made me roll my eyes because it came across as silly or too clichéd.

More from Morgan Flint please! This woman seems awesome. Despite Nikki being a main character, her part in this book is tiny. But almost every person involved gets to talk extensively. There are also a lot of details, that differ wirh any mention, like names or occasions. Norhing big, but still... There are so many people to work on a manuscript beforw it goes into print and none noticed or bothered to correct them! A convenient storyteller should mind the details as well as the big picture.
