When Charles Morris is forced into retirement, the old multinational company CEO has to accept that it is all over. The days of running his financial empire have finally come to an end. All because of a stupid heart attack. Now what is there for him to do but to curl up in a corner and die?

While Charles is attending a fundraiser, however, something happens and he's transported into a strange medieval world where magic is real and legendary heroes coexist with mythical monsters.

I enjoyed the whole series immensely, especially as it’s a litRPG free of dungeons and monsters and such which made for a nice change. It’s a bit too detail-ey at times and Charles comes off a bit arrogant in the first books but he grows and learns and has some real good tricks up his sleeve. Plus there’s a number of fun characters that make the story very enjoyable.
The series itself is greatly helped by the superb narrator. Neil Hellegers could read the phone book to me and I“d still listen.

Zu repetativ, um die Spannung für ein ganzes Buch, geschweige denn, eine ganze Serie aufrechtzuerhalten. Idee nutzt sich schnell ab. Für ein paar Abende zwischendurch ist es aber ok.

Die Geschichte beginnt gut aber etwas langsam und höhrt verdammt gut auf, defenitiv eine Entfehlung

The thing about writing a business savey MC is that the author also needs to be business savey and what we find in the book … I’d say any gamer who is into city or nation builder games will surpass what the MC is displaying.
This is especially sad since he is supposed to be the uber CEO. The story would have been the exact same if he had been switched with a first year economics minor…

Example:
MC: I will facilitate loans for you and take 20%
Npc: haha, how about 5%
MC: I won’t get out of bed for less than 12%
Npc: 8% final offer
MC *damn, I underestimated how business savey this guy was* deal
Npc: actually I’ll give you an even 10%
MC: wow, he was a shrewd business man making sure his allies are happy

For free it’ll kill a few hours

Wer sich eine vereinfachte wirtschafts Sim anhören möchte gerne. Aber es gibt keine Herausforderung und Spannungsbogen. Nur Ressourcenmanagement und Diplomatie mit Magie die alles regelt
