A Warhammer 40,000 Novel

The renegade leader of the Red Corsairs must adapt to an Imperium led by Roboute Guilliman, all while struggling to retain power in the face of dissension among his vicious followers.

Listen because...

See how the galaxy has changed for the Red Corsairs after the Great Rift, through the eyes of their infamous reaving leader—Huron Blackheart—who once preyed freely on a weakened Imperium.

The story:

Huron Blackheart is the lord of the Red Corsairs, master of the lawless Maelstrom and its piratical denizens—but oathbreakers and renegades can seldom rely on the loyalty of their followers. With the galaxy thrown into turmoil by the return of Roboute Guilliman, the former Tyrant of Badab faces a renewed Imperium and fresh challengers emerging within his own ranks. Huron must call on every trick he knows to stay in control—and alive. Yet even a warrior as ferocious and opportunistic as the Blood Reaver must be wary, for although there are many bargains he can strike, all power comes at a price....

Written by Mike Brooks. Narrated by Andrew Wincott. Running time 6 hours and 24 minutes.

It really gives interesting insights to the ways of the heretics and the speaker is superb :)

Great story about one of the best character in Warhammer. If you look for a story with a competent evil main character, look no further. I realy hope for a second book.

Just great

One of the best WH40K Chaos stories so far (besides Fabius Bile).
I absolutly love it and the audio book is in english just awesome (the speaker really brings Huron Blackheart to life).

Very colorful and exciting, good plot. The cast of characters is good and the pirate band politicking is very fun, nice change of pace from the rigid Imperial perspective. Real MVP is probably the speaker who pulls off six hours of pirate voice staying fun. Would definitely recommend this book (and the navigator one) by this author and will definitely read more. Got his original fantasy one lined up next.

Fun pirate novella

I really enjoyed Huron Blackheart: Master of the Maelstrom. The story was gripping from start to finish, filled with intrigue, clever plot twists, and vividly described battle scenes that kept me fully engaged. The narration was outstanding! the voice actor brought so much life to each character, adding depth and personality in a way that elevated the entire experience. Truly first-class work.
