This book is full of old patterns but it stays exiting nevertheless. I can't wait for the next one.

Cheesy but exiting

Erzählt wird die Geschichte eines jungen Mädchens in einer Welt des Krieges und der Brutalität, in der ihr Volk unterdrückt wird. Nach einem schrecklichen Vorfall mit ihrer Familie versucht sie alleine zu überleben und muss sich in die Höhle des Löwen begeben um ihren Bruder zu retten. Parallel wird die Geschichte eines jungen Elitekämpfers erzählt, der seiner Stellung im Militär entfliehen möchte und stattdessen in einen Kampf um den Thron verwickelt wird.
Die Geschichte an sich ist interessant und die Protagonistin macht eine super Charakterentwicklung durch. Es gibt aber auch ein paar Entwicklungen zwischen den Personen die meiner Meinung nach die Story behindern.
Außerdem wird sie wirklich sehr langsam erzählt. Es gibt Aktion und Spannung, aber auch etwas zu viele Einblicke in die Gefühlslage der Charaktere, sodass ich sehr froh war, das Audiobook gehört zu haben anstatt das echte Buch zu lesen.

Die Sprecher machen ihre Sache gut, auch wenn mir der Mann deutlich besser gefallen hat. Die Frau klang durchweg etwas leidend und typisch synchronsprechermäßig. Aber das kann man in der Hörprobe ja hören.

ich hätte es echt nicht erwartet, aber es war wirklich sehr cool. Empfehlenswert für alle Fantasy Fans :-)

Oh man oh man! Long has it been since I've read a book that basically swallowed my life until the last page. what a great story! I love that the female lead is not the typical brave and already highly skilled protagonist, but that she has inner struggles and fears, just like anyone would. and the fact that every chapter switches between Laia and Elias really is brilliant. You never get bored of one character and are left wanting for more after every chapter. The performance and voices in this audiobook were also fantastic. Man I hope they turn this book(series) into a movie! As soon as this review is submitted I'm buying the second installment :) Off to new adventures!
