Strong messages and a cohesive narrative make this even more enjoying for me than some great works of Brandon Sanderson or Patrick Rothfuss.

Je mehr der Charakter Kaiden über seine Vergangenheit erfährt, umso unglaubwürdiger wird sein Teil der Story. Manchmal hätte ich diesen Teil am liebsten überspult. Die anderen Teile der Geschichte bleiben spannend und ich freue mich auf den nächsten Band.

If you like the idea of epic fantasy with interesting worlds and lots of characters but can't stand the long stretches of zero story development in the Wheel of Time then this is the book for you. You get to visit a carefully crafted world with a fast paced storyline. Stop paying attention for a second and you're lost with no clue of what just happened. I'd probably have enjoyed reading this myself even more for that exact reason but Michael Kraemer does such a good job narrating that it's a close call.
I'm currently anxiously waiting for the end of the month so I can spend my new credit on book 3.

Der zweite Teil der Serie ist blutig, dunkel und grausam, lässt einen aber nicht mehr los. Nichts für zarte Seelen oder jemand der eine schöne und spannende Geschichte hören möchte. Wer aber in eine dunkle, spannende, brutale Geschichte hören will, Go ahead!

if you liked the first one, this book will keep you going, but as with all such books it gets pretty "epic", which I myself don't enjoy too much.

I can't wait for the third book of the trilogy. Many parts of he first book are tied together nicely but leaving enough space for the third.

Great character development. Enticing story. Very good world building without sacrificing pace or action for it. Adresses interesting life questions.

Amazing Story

A very enjoyable book, part 2 of three books, to date at least. You have to have read the first book to appreciate the second. I always feel overwhelmed with which rich fantasy these books are written which in turn means the author must draw a fine balance between plausibility and being ridiculous. One often reads fantasy books ( after all this is fantasy!) which are so far fetched that reading is disappointing, Thankfully Audible is very kind in accepting returns.
There are a quite a number of characters in this book with unusual names ( maybe we should ask Musk what a truly unusual name is right) which makes following the story a challange sometimes. The plot does wander slightly but the author seems to notice this and grounds the plot every so often.
Considering good fantasy/ Sci–fi books are fairly rare I would highly recommend this trilogy. As concerns the narrator, I sometimes find heavily American accents can be annoying over long periods but by characterising his voice the narrator avoids that.
