I loved the books of this series so far and was so exited to hear how the story and the trios fight would continue. Unfortunately for some reason this brilliant author decided to just re-write the first book with the pov of Casteel. out of first to fourth book the first one was the most boring in my opinion so even worse that I had to listen to the same story twice. I would have preferred if this had been the first book, listening out of casteels pov was def. Better because he doesn’t think over the same thing 500 times like poppy does so the story was faster paced than in the first book but unfortunately it was just the same story even some of the dialogues where exactly the same, that’s what it made so unnecessary. I’m sure the Jennifer could have come up with more brilliant plot twists or she could have written something about the relationship between Millie and malek if she wanted to elongate this series to make into six books. I would have appreciated anything else and of course am exited that there will be another book to stay in this world, but just the same story as the first book did not hit the spot. Up until the last hour, there is no new information on the events that happened so far or how the story will continue….of course it ends on a very exiting cliffhanger the only new thing that’s happening in this book. Anyway I can’t wait for the next book of this series to come out but am just a little disappointed in this one. The narrator did an amazing job though I wouldn’t mind if the next book would be casteels pov again he seems to get things a little faster than poppy does, but just hope the story will continue.

Great performance! I'm not a native speaker and had some problems with the slight accent at the beginning, but the voice just fits Cas incredibly well and you quickly get used to it. I knew in advance that I was expecting Casteel's POV so I wasn't as disappointed as others here. I love the dynamic between Cas and Kieran and you also learn more about their relationship.

It would just have been nice if at least a few questions had been clarified and not just new cliffhangers added. I still really enjoyed listening to it though and hope the next book will take the story a long way forward.

If you know it's just another POV you'll like this book

Einfach eine der fesselndsten Geschichten überhaupt! Total lebendig, wahnsinnig phantasievoll - das ganze Drumherum! Es ist stimmig, einnehmend, gewaltig und hoch romantisch! Und beide Sprecher bisher einfach top!!! Ich freue mich auf das Finale!

Really disappointing - it’s basically book one told by Casteel. The narrator actually improved compared to the previous book. That at least was a decent surprise. The rest is as captivating as yesterday’s left overs warmed up again.

Seltsam, dass dies meine erste Rezension dieser Reihe ist, obwohl ich sie doch abgöttisch LIEBE!!! Aber egal, ich versuche auf jeden Fall nicht zu spoilern, auch wenns schwer fällt... 😅

Ich nenne diesen Band jetzt einfach mal "Zwischenband", weil es genau das ist. Wie angekündigt ist es ein Rückblick aus Casteels Sicht der Dinge, weshalb es durchaus sinnvoll ist, hier Tim Campbell allein zu hören. Ja, wie viele andere auch habe ich Stina Nielsen schmerzlich vermisst, aber Tim macht meiner Meinung nach ebenfalls immer einen grandiosen Job! Und Poppy legt eben diesmal eine (wohlverdiente!) Ruhepause ein...

Inhaltlich gibt dieser Band eher wenig Informationen her, die für den weiteren Verlauf wichtig wären und beschränkt sich hauptsächlich auf den ersten Band, was ich persönlich sehr schade finde. Versteht mich nicht falsch, ich fand es toll, Casteel wirklich mal "in den Kopf gucken" zu können und zu erfahren, wie viel Widerstand ihm in den Anfängen tatsächlich entgegen schlug und wie sehr er sich für/wegen Poppy doch verändert hat, aber ich hätte mir eher eine Art "Best of" aller bisherigen Bände gewünscht. So sind leider viele viele Szenen hinten runtergefallen, in denen mich seine Gedanken wirklich brennend interessiert hätten...

Aber auch so hat mir der Band sehr gefallen, weil man wieder einmal spüren konnte, wie eng die Bindung der beiden bzw der drei (wir wollen Kieran natürlich nicht vergessen!) ist, was meiner Ansicht nach die ganze Geschichte zusätzlich zu einem Kunstwerk macht!
Abgesehen davon erfährt man ja trotzdem noch ein-zwei Neuigkeiten und die gute Jennifer wäre nicht sie selbst, würde sie das Buch nicht mit einem gehörigen Knall enden lassen...! 🫨

Und nun geht die sehnsüchtige Warterei auf die Fortsetzung wieder los... 😭 Kann es nicht erwarten!!!

It was really enjoyable because I love cas but I really wish the story had evolved more… I hope the next book will bring that!

Just a different POV

First of all: I feel like I did Tim Campbell a bit dirty in book 4, where I didn't really like his reading. Because now, in book 5? He was crazy good! So good! A perfect voice for Cas.

When it comes to the story... well, it's obviosly a filler. I mean we already know what happened in book 1 and 2 and it's basically that but from Casteels POV. It's cool to get some of his thoughts and see him develope his love for Poppy, but to make it a whole book... well, at least we got some new infos in between and at the and. I just want to know what comes next now!

Phenomenal Reader!

This book ist more or less just a recap of Book 1. Yes it's from Cas' view, but sadly it adds almost nothing new to the story, as there are only a hand full of story pieces that weren't already included in the first book. I'd say new story developments would only add up to about 20 minutes reading time. I feel like i could have just skipped this volume without missing much.

Das Buch hätte sie sich in der Reihe sparen können. Es werden nur sehr langatmig alle Ereignisse des 1. Buches noch einmal aus Cas' Sicht erzählt.

The whole book was a recap of FBAA. While I do like Cas I don’t need 16h of recap from a different POV. And defines not from the first book in the series. If it was sooooo important to know his POV, why not write book one in a dual POV in the first place? I managed to listen to it until Present V. After that I skipped to the other Present Chapters bc that is where the only new information is put into. It would have been fine to write the first couple of chapters as a recap but then proceed with the actual story. *SPOILER START* Wake Poppy up, maybe make her loose part of the memory or just move on so this series finally ends.
*SPOILER OVER* This book I would title: “How to unnecessarily stretch a book series, which was supposed to be a trilogy in the first place; a guide” bc long story short, that is all it is. A unnecessary recap and, to be honest, a waste of time.

The narrators did a great job as always so he is getting 5stars but the story is a 2 stars bc I like Cas. Every other book I would have given 1 star.
