I truly wasn't expecting anything too crazy since I already loved FBAA but this exceeded my expectations! For one we get an actual link to the series we already know - even if it takes a while to really understand how they're linked.
I'm not sure if it's just me but I only really understood in the last chapter - and damn I had goosebumps practically for half an hour straight! That's the right way to end a book! Up until the last sentence the suspense and confusion was almost unbearable and it felt like Sera and I were on the same boat on that topic.

As for the characters: Nyktos and Sera felt a lot like Poppy and Cas to me in the beginning, or maybe that was what I expected... it took me a while but I came to love them individually and they could fill a book on their personalities and Backstories alone (which is kind of what the first bit is for Sera)
Our favourite Primal also got quite the story, though it's not exactly talked about in a lot of detail. I would guess we'll get to know more about him as the series continues and Sera starts truly getting to know him and their bond strengthens.

The supporting characters aren't very memorable in my opinion, only a few truly stuck with me and none were very important apart from maybe three of them. I guess most of them simply serve to get the plot going and it seems like their main point was to 1. show how our MCs interact with their surroundings and loved ones and 2. to explain how the world works. This is fine by me, since the focus here is the relationship between Nyktos and Sera and how the world in FBAA came to be as we know it - I would have appreciated a little more fleshed out side characters though.

Some of the situations don't make a whole lot of sense to me at the moment or I just can't figure out how they served the story... At this point I hope that it'll be talked about in further books - since it seems to me like nothing is written without some sort of purpose.

What I absolutely loved was how everything sort of fell into place in the end! This is also where you realize that nothing is truly placed anywhere without a cause. When I say my jaw was on the floor multiple times in the last few chapters, I'm not exaggerating!

Like I said, I wasn't expecting to love this but I'm now very excited to see where JLA will take us with these two lovable new characters in the next book!

I'm not sure if I even have to mention it but I love Stina Nielsen and I think she did a phenomenal job as always !

Ich verschlinge alle Jennifer Armentrout, Marah Woolf, Julia Dippel oder Sarah J. Maas (Audio-) Bücher und dieses Buch gehört eindeutig zu meinen Besten. Diese ganze Fantasy Welt, Atmosphäre, Charaktere, Wortwitz zwischen den Protagonisten und die Sprecherin Stina Nielsen machen das Buch zu einem absolut, gelungenen Werk.

Kann die Fortsetzung kaum erwarten :)

Back to the world of From Blood & Ash only this time we accompany the story about Sera and Nyktos that we both get to know in TCOGB. Here, too, I got the audio book for it and it is only told in the female protagonist, Sera Sicht. At the beginning of the story I was a bit reluctant because I wanted to get into the story first, but towards the middle of the book it got a lot better. Sera was an interesting character, I liked that she can fight and stand up for herself the only thing where I was a little annoyed that she looks too much like me on Poppy and also certain actions that happen, especially with that certain knife thing, I don't like us so much already knew that. I just wish they were more than FBAA but otherwise I liked them. Nyktos on the other hand fascinated me more than Hawk because I liked his way very much and I liked this mysterious way. The story itself was good, even a tick better than FBAA, because it was now easy to see things together because I already knew a lot. It was interesting to see what was going on and how everything was connected and many questions were solved here. All in all, I thought it was good, I liked the characters, especially the Draken, I was a huge fan and I also liked the fantasy part and I also thought the romance story was okay. For the beginning it was okay and since I heard it should be a series I'm curious what else to expect.

The narration was fantastic. I loved it. I cannot wait for the Audible of the second book to be released. I hope the narrator for "A Light in the Flame" is also Stina Nielsen.

I haven’t done my research if this has been written before or after blood and ash but anyway for anyone else in love with that series it’s a must have!
I love to learn how the story that casteel and poppy in the blood and ash series only seemed to be scratching the surface really is. It’s kind of a prequel to that series. The love story between Sera and Niktos do have some similarities to the poppy casteel story in the sense of pretending to be someone they are not etc. Don’t want to spoiler too much ;). Poppy and sera also have similarities in character which makes sense as sera is poppies grandmother if I didn’t get it completely wrong so that’s very cute. Also nice that some characters appear again so you get the feeling that you are still also hearing a part of the blood and ash series that I can’t wait to come out with the next book. Like blood and ash it has spicy scenes as well but I love it.
Overall great book and story can’t wait to hear more

Diese Audiobuch war viel interessanter und spannender als ich erwartet habe. Ist die Geschichte von Niktos und Sarah (Primar-Gods and Poppy's Großeltern) und erklärt die Pre-Universum von "Blood and Ash". Die Stimme ist einfach wunderschön. Kann kaum warten auf das nächstes Buch.

First I was a bit sceptical because I thought I would miss poppy and Casteel to much but honestly I forgot about them in the second chapter. I really really like this story as much as the From Blood and Ash series. Nyktos is just *chefs kiss*😚👌🏼.
100% recommendation to read/listen to this book.

Dieses Buch hat mich von Anfang bis Ende mitgerissen! So toll sie geschichte von damals zu hören und ich fühlte alles mit der Protagonistin mit! Und viele Szenen waren richtig heiss!
Die Sprecherin war auch richtig toll!

Ich liebe die Buchreihe FBAA sowieso und hab sie mir auch schon mehrmals durchgelesen/angehört (Teile auf Deutsch aber auch auf Englisch). Ich hatte vorweg ein wenig Angst, dass mir ein Ableger der Reihe nicht so gefallen könnte, aber dieses Buch ist der Wahnsinn! 😍😍😍 demnach war die Angst völlig unbegründet. Habe es ebenso verschlungen wie die anderen Teile!!! absolute Kaufempfehlung! Und wer evtl unsicher ist, die Teile auf englisch zu lesen: traut euch ruhig! Es ist wirklich gut verständlich und genauso fesselnd. 🥰😉
