Many truths
I really enjoyed the story with it twists and turns and characters that were predictable and unpredictable at the same time and different truths of witness statements. It took a bit of time in the beginning to adjust to pace and narration style, and then the story became very engaging. And a pleasant surprise is that this detective story bears an unlikely characteristic, it is kind.

Überraschend gut!
Zuerst sieht es aus wie der Standard-Krimi. Drolliger Detektiv wider Willen, spezielles Umfeld, ein bisschen historischer Hintergrund - ich hatte mir die Druckausgabe aus Versehen gekauft. Ich mag überhaupt keine "cosy mysteries".
Aber: ich habe mich sehr gut unterhalten gefühlt! Die Autorin hat eine ruhige, präzise Sprache, die Geschichte ist - bis vielleicht auf das Ende - nachvollziehbar. Der historische Hintergrund ist nicht nur Hintergrund, sondern Teil der Handlung und wirkt gut recherchiert.
Die Hörbuch-Umsetzung hat mir auch richtig gut gefallen. Serien sind zwar nicht so meins, hier freue ich mich aber auf den nächsten Band.
