Loved the main couple. Appreciated the sprinkling of good sex scenes. Overall good plot, very spooky 👾

Refreshing gay romance with intresting backdrop

While I admit it took me a while to get into the story, I was absolutely hooked and couldn’t put it down! Whyborn and Griffin have to be one of my favorite couples ever. They are so sweet together! The story was very intriguing as well. The charm of a historical romance with a good dose of (sometimes slightly macab) magic, detective mystery and a cult. What more could you ask for! The narrator did such a fantastic job of voicing the characters and setting the scene! Bravo

So - first point - the narrator did a good job, I liked his voice and his understated way fits the book perfectly.

The book itself:
I liked it - I loved the whole setting, the characters, the storyline and the lovestory. Actually, everything was nearly perfect. Even the revelation that the at first glance "perfect" Griffin wasn't as perfect as one would think.

For me it dragged a bit in the beginning but I couldn't put my finger on where and why. Probably just a personal problem ;)

I have the feeling I should give it 5 stars because I wouldn't know what to change to make it better (oh, wait...one last real love scene at the end, that would have been nice).

But for me it missed the last "wow"-spark - I'm going over this review again when I have relistened to it in a few months.

So it's not 5 stars but it's also better than 4 stars. 4,5 stars then.
