What an adventure!

I really like the world building the author did in this book. If you're interested in history or adapted history it's really cool. Vampire's are hiding among humans, making sure to keep the numbers of people who believe they're not fictional as low as possible. But ancient beings have so much stories to tell. And as Alyk is plugged from his life and finds himself in this parallel truth nobody knows, his so often fascinated.
It's awesome that each vampire has a talent, some more rare than others. And I think the development in Alyk and Cronins relationship was also well done. Fated mates is not easy to write, but the didn't just fall for each other and turned of their brains. In the contrary, the plot often needs the two men to think, to plan, to be clever to survive.

I'm definitely on board for part two. The missing star is just my personal feeling about how I would rank the book in comparison to others I have recently heard.

The narrator did an excellent job. I know nothing about accents but I think they were always very well done.
