Haben Sie vorher schon ein Hörbuch mit Hollis McCarthy gehört? Wie würden Sie beide vergleichen?

Da ich superempfindlich bei Sprechern bin, hätte ich das Hörbuch wegen der Kritik an der Sprecherin fast nicht runtergeladen. Aber die Hörprobe war okay, also hab ich das Audiobook bestellt.

Keine Ahnung, was die Nörgelei soll, Hollis McCarthy liest die Geschichte gefühlvoll und empathisch. Klar, an manchen Stellen klingt sie hölzern, aber das liegt an der Heldin, die Anfangs steif rüberkommt - weil sie steif ist. Darum macht die Sprecherin einen richtig guten Job, diese Härte entsprechend rüberzubringen. Das legt sich später mit der Entwicklung von Josephine.

Ich hatte kein Problem mit ihrer Verspanntheit, darum fand ich das auch nicht störend. Im Gegenteil. Es ist leichter, sich in Personen hineinzuversetzen, wenn die Sprecherin deren Charakter über die Stimme formt und in diesem Sinne rüberbringt.

Darum gibt es von mir die volle Punktzahl für die Story und die Sprecherin.

I love KA's stories but this narrator's voice made me nearly fall asleep. Long pauses, slow and well, boring as hell. The Will is one of my favorite books but this audio is just terrible.

I'm realy sorry to say this book just doesnt live up to the story idea. its a great idea just very porly executed it drags out much to long and the naration is terrible toneles and boring at times i honestly had to fight to stay awake and get through this book. Just the story is lovely i mean guy with 3 kids and bad luck with females finaly meets grandaughter of a woman he cared for alot and the grandaughter has emotinal issues he helps with they all fall in love and have a happely ever after but the language used in the book the repatition and so on realy kill the mood.
