Inhaltsangabe
Robin has made a powerful ally in the Duke of Lancaster. But he has made powerful enemies too: not only his childhood adversary Mortimer, but the sadistic knight Peter de Gray. Returning to England, he is awarded the fiefdom of Fernbrook in Lancashire, where he meets the beautiful noblewoman Joanna.
But the wheel of fortune keeps turning and as the years pass Robin and his friends must face trials and tragedies: plague, war and political intrigue are never far away. And when Fernbrook falls into the covetous hands of the irredeemably wicked young Earl of Burton, Robin must confront horrors at home which rival even the bloodshed he has experienced in the ongoing wars against France....
In the second installment of a six-part epic, Medieval Europe is brought to life in a multi-cast drama based on the novels by Rebecca Gable, author of the Scarlet City trilogy.
Featuring: Gareth Armstrong, Tim Bentinck, Will Bishop, Gabriel Clark, Clare Corbett, Raymond Coulthard, Gareth David-Lloyd, Barnaby Edwards, Jonathan Firth, Philip Franks, Raj Ghatak, Helen Goldwyn, Anthony Howell, Joe Jameson, Jacqueline King, Rosalyn Landor, Damian Lynch, Michael Maloney, Miriam Margolyes, Tony Millan, Darin Nagada, Nisha Nayar, George Naylor, Steven Pacey, Nicholas Pegg, Vineeta Rishi, Dan Starkey, Alexander Vlahos, Lizzie Waterworth-Santo, Finty Williams, Sophie Winkleman and Becky Wright.

Geschichte
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

My name is Peter Grant and until January I was just probationary constable in that mighty army for justice known to all right-thinking people as the Metropolitan Police Service (as the Filth to everybody else). My only concerns in life were how to avoid a transfer to the Case Progression Unit - we do paperwork so real coppers don't have to - and finding a way to climb into the panties of the outrageously perky WPC Leslie May.

WORST break of logic in the middle of the story
WHY does a established and smart character suddenly does the most stupid thing for literally no reason (love also wasn't involved at this point) and with no background in his own life. The author really was too lazy to think of a good story setup at this point! It RUINED the whole character and story for me. It's a shame for the great actors who did a great job on recording this book.
Spoiler: I'm referring to the scene when the mob want's to kill Lancaster, everybody rides away but only Robin stays back alone, with his Lancaster Coat of arms on , just to talk to the mob about nothing and then gets nearly killed by for no reason ????
