I love this book, I really do. It's something entirely different from the first two entrys of the series and while I believe that for this story the choosing of multiple points of views was a very good thing, I've come to just deeply dislike the speaker in this audio book.
It is a personal thing entirely and I am really sorry, but I just hate the sound of his voice. I've read the first two books, but as it happens I had to travel a lot then it came to the time I wanted to read this. So I treated myself... or so I thought.
Now as I said before, I strongly recommend this book. ...just not the audio book.

I can't wrap my head around it.

Not my favourite story in the Vampire chronicles, but that's a matter of taste. The accents are the real problem here, or should I say, the accent? Everyone, and I mean it, everyone besides Lestat, whether it is Akasha from Near East or Gabrielle from France, every character who's not English native speaker is voiced with a generic Slavic accent, while only Armand is supposed to have something of the sort. So frustrating to listen to it!
