The book is written as a magical realism piece with all the suspense, sophistication and wit these kinds of books bring. Underneath however is a bunch of life lessons and teachings about music I found really interesting and useful. As a person who is in a process of learning music, the observations and lessons in the book made me not only more aware of certain things, but also, I think, I became a bit better listener by reading this piece. I liked it a lot. On the other hand, reader should not expect any intellectually heavy explanations. The author simply puts a finger on something what is clearly important in music, brings it in connection with life in general and then creates a fictional narrative around it without any attempt at a heavy rationalisation, or analytical discourse. I think this way the book achieves what it set out to do and besides that it is also entertaining. Finally, I really liked the production: great narrators, good background music and sounds. Overall, nice and enjoyable.

it surprised me gladly, not only it's spoken from Victor Wooten himself, also the music and atmosphere he created makes, along with a wonderful story, easily the best audiobook in the world so far.
