Dan Brown once again knew how to capture his audience at least in the first half. Another thing: All this is to happen in 24h? A bit unrealistic - anyhow it is a pleasure to listen to when you have time and nothing better to do.

Mal wieder hat es Dan Brown verstanden seine Leser/Hörer zu fesseln - zumindest in der ersten Hälfte. Nur: Das alles soll innerhalb von 24h passieren? Leider etwas unrealistisch - trotzdem ein Hörgenuss, wenn man Zeit und nichts besseres zu tun hat.

It's not to bad of a book, but I did not like the parts about "soul measurements" and "weight of thoughts". That's too abstract for my taste.

Good but too much "fiction/fantasy"

Bei den Büchern von Dan Brown fasziniert mich immer wieder seine Fähigkeit die Städte, Straßen und Gebäude so treffen zu beschreiben. Man fühlt sich dorthin versetzt. Wer den einen oder anderen Ort schon besucht hat lernt nachträglich noch wichtige Fakten. Ich nehme mir bei jedem Buich vor, dass ich, wenn ich mal an den Ort des Geschehens fahre, sein Buch dazu nochmal lese / höre um mir eine art Reiseführer zu basteln.Die Handlung ist Perfekt. Spannend nach den ersten Seiten und überraschend bis zum Ende. Ken Follett hätte noch eine Liebesgeschicht oder zumindest eine heiße, genauestens beschriebene Romanze eingebaut. All das braucht Dan Brown nicht. Robert Langton ist mal wieder unabsichtlich in ein Abenteuer geschlittert . Mehr darf man vorab eigentlich nicht preis geben.

Wieder mal ein echter Dan Brown

Das Buch schafft es bei weitem nicht mit seinen Vorgängern Schritt zu halten. Zwar hat es durchaus auch seine guten Stellen, doch ist es grundsätzlich eher zu langatmig gehalten. Besonders die Erklärungen verleiten dazu den Geist schweifen zu lassen und anstatt weiter zuzuhören lieber den Essensplan für den nächsten Tag aufzustellen. Der Plot selbst ist OK, jedoch stellenweise zu leicht durchschaubar.
Drei Sterne gibt es noch, weil das Hörbuch es doch geschafft hat, dass ich es bis zu Ende gehört habe (auch wenn die letzten zwei Stunden schon gute Einschlaflektüre waren; auch für den Plot unnötig), ein paar interessante Ideen dabei waren und es auch--gerade anfangs--noch einige wenige unerwartete Wendungen gab. Auch der Sprecher (der gleiche wie bei DaVinci Code) ist angenehm aufgefallen, da er für diese Art von Geschichten angenehm aufgefallen ist und man es wirklich an der Stimme hört, welche der Figuren gerade spricht.

Great plot and meaningful material for thought! The narrator is one of my favourite. I always learn something new from the Dan Brown books.
