An Observer Thriller of the Month

What got me to resume my audible membership? A new Stuart Turton book. I loved all of them. The way the characters emotions truly matter within the grand puzzles he sets up, these beautiful, intricate puzzle boxes, that open up and make perfect sense when you pull on the red thread and let everything fall into place. The worldbuilding was set up in a way that served the story, while also giving us a world that we, as readers, can relate to. I want to add as well, the narrator did a beautiful job. She truly gave each and every character their own voices, inflections, accents, i loved her delivery for abi especially, the clean and polite tone, that can so easily shift into sounding sinister, with just a few note changes. I havent had this much fun with a story in a long time.

I don't want to give anything away, because what makes this book remarkable is the mystery. And the characters. And the world building. And the language. And... You know what, just give it a go yourself. You won't regret it.

If you liked The Seven Deaths you will definitely love this book. Full of turns and twists, which all makes sense in the end.

Gripping, surprising and intelligent

An incredible book with so many twists and turns that it’s almost hard to keep up. But the characters are greatly evolved and unraveled. The reader‘s voice sometimes seems to be not a perfect fit, but she manages to give each character their own identity. I can really recommend it!
