Harper King is like most humans - she works hard at her job and does her best not to think too much about the Krinar. The mysterious aliens took over her planet five years ago, and since then, rumors have surrounded them...whispers of super strength and speed, incredible beauty, and advanced technology. Harper should hate them, since her parents died the day they invaded, but something about the infamous Krinar fascinates her. Little does she know that the sinfully gorgeous drifter who rescues her from a bar fight will give her the close encounter she's always dreamed of.

Sef is supposed to be infiltrating a human resistance group, not seducing sweet little human females. But from the moment he sets eyes on Harper, he knows he must have her and will do anything to possess her. Using his human disguise, he lures Harper into his arms and his bed. When it's far too late for her to escape him, he reveals that he's a Krinar, one of the powerful and terrifying aliens she's always wanted to meet. He gives her a choice: to save her brothers, she must give herself to him - heart, body, and soul.

Contains mature themes.

First up – I haven’t read the main series. I started with this book. I definitely cannot recommend it. Maybe it was better explained in the series & maybe that helps to get to know the Krinar better. Maybe when you like the series then you can enjoy this one too.

What happend before is:
The Krinar race took over the world. The humans are not mature enough to be allowed to decide over their own way of live or their planet. The homeplanet of the Krinar is about to be destroyed therefore they look for a new planet & decide that earth is the one they want to settle on.
Ergo they “enslave” the humans but ooohhh, they have so good intentions and if the humans just “grow up” they could become equal. But humans are not there yet, so they need to be forced to see that the Krinar-Way is the only way that is right...

If you only read this book its hard to find the Krinar likeable. It is not that it's hard to understand the world building in this book, but the problem is that I really could not connect to the world or the characters. There is a lot of sex & broken trust between the main characters.
But hey - you get kidnaped & your only family is incarcerated - and you can't help youself because the man that betrayed you and put your brothers in prison is so hot and good in bed that you fall in love with him within one week.

Yeah totally believeable - because he only wants your best!

I have heard it until the end because I hoped it would get better - but it didn't.

There was a lot of potential in the plot but it wasn't used. I hoped it would be a story of finding compromise & getting to know each other and faceing the thread of a terrorist attack that wants to destroy the relationship between those two races. Two equal main characters who learn to love each other and respect each other as equals...

Well, that order was to high for this book.

Definately not a reccomendation from my side.

Not a good start to the Krinar World Series
