Running away from home at 17 wasn't easy. Let's face it, though, nothing before or in the ten years since has ever been easy for me. And I'm doing okay—sorta. I just need to keep scraping by, living under the radar. Staying out of people's way, off people's minds.

The first time I took a man's life, I knew there'd be no going back, no normal existence in the cards for me. Instead of walking away, I climbed a mountain of bodies and created my own destiny by forming The Alliance. And I was fine with that, content enough to carry on.
Until I stepped through those open doors, and into her life.
I should've walked away. Should've gone right back out the door I came through. But I didn't. And now her life is in danger. That's the thing about being a bad man. I'll happily paint the streets red to protect what's mine.
And Payton is mine. Whether she knows it or not.

Just OMG!
I really loved the story and specialy that it didn’t took so long for them to hook up! Great story as well and i liked the voiced of the speakers

Beautifull and edgy
This is a beautifull love story. Nero is totaly unhinged. The story is fast pased enough. The chemesty is off the charts and it’s exiting. Would read again.

love!
This was so good. I loved the story and the narrators! It's dark but lighthearted at he same time. And the characters are absolutely lovely!

One of my absolute favorites
I love love love The Alliance series sooo much. I read all books within a couple of days and love the audiobook, too! Also loved the narrators’ voices. Super relaxing to listen to and Nero and Peyton’s story is so sweet!

Just lovely
I loved this book so much, it filled my heart with joy , such a good man, worshiping her, and the way she loves him in return… heart melting

a beginner-friendly mafia that will absolutely wreck you 🫠❤️🔥
okay i absolutely devoured this audiobook, oh my god!!!! i didn't know how much i missed a mafia romance in my life until this one and this didn't miss. u can happily inform everyone now that i will be back in my dark romance/mafia era aaaaahh 🫠🫶🏼 i absolutely loved nero and i loved this story so much. there's just something about well written spice and a possessive alpha male that always does it for me!!! this reminded me so much of my favorite neva altaj mafia books and i truly truly missed this world. the narration REALLY pulled this off right! i don't think i would've been as hooked if i had read it instead of listening to it!! the duality was just chefs kiss aaaah!!!! 🫠❤️🔥 while some quotes were a little questionable (lol), i truly wished there was a little bit more depth to our fmc payton - unfortunately it felt like she was a bit clueless and lost most of the time and i really do love my fiesty and strong-headed fmc's in these types of books. however, i can still totally recommend this one to anyone who wants to start reading more mafia as it is pretty beginner-friendly with the dark topics! 🫶🏼make sure to check the TWs before reading/listening tho as it still is a dark/mafia romance that dabbles in the morally grey area! also, i need king's book like... right NOW!!!! i loved his funny ass so much and i was so glad he was there to check nero's ego, he had truly no business being this funny 😭

A dark mafia romance series with teeth, heart—and surprisingly, humor.
If you’re into dark mafia romance with morally grey heroes, unhinged devotion, and just the right amount of spice, Men of the Alliance will absolutely deliver.
Right from the start, Nero throws you into a surreal, twisted, almost macabre world—but don’t be fooled. It’s not as far-fetched as it seems. This book leans hard into tropes like stalking, age gap, and murder, but what really stands out is Nero himself. He’s powerful, obsessive, and funny in the darkest possible way. His POV is one of the highlights—sometimes hilariously deranged, always compelling. He falls first, falls hard, and takes “protective” to terrifying new levels.
Then there’s Payton. Her character is painfully lonely—so much so that it physically hurts to read her story at times. She’s the kind of person life just keeps punching down, and you can’t help but root for her to catch even the smallest break.
The book is spicy, gritty, violent, and not for the faint of heart—but if you like your romance with blood on the floor and a knife to the throat (figuratively… or not), Men of the Alliance is addictive. Highly recommended for dark romance fans who love antiheroes with obsession issues and broken heroines with steel spines.
Bonus points: The narration by Jack Calihan and Chloe Ryan is phenomenal. They bring these characters to life perfectly.

a little disapointing
the narration was really good and elevated the book in my eyes. Also I liked Nero and his intensity and how single mindedly he pursuied the heroine. but the heroine was soo pathetic. she had nothing going for her. I mean, after she moves in with Nero and did not have to work her Job anymore she did not know what to do with herself so she would call the Hero and ask him what hobby, she should take on Bc she had no other friends to ask. I could not even bring my self to dislike her bc there was NOTHING there to like or dislike. the Showdown at the end was out of the blue and so laughable. I am going to read the other books in the series, though. i am curious about King.
