The hounds at our heels will soon know we are lions. Tamas's invasion of Kez ends in disaster when a Kez counter-offensive leaves him cut off behind enemy lines with only a fraction of his army, no supplies and no hope of reinforcements. Drastically outnumbered and pursued by the enemy's best, he must lead his men on a reckless march through northern Kez to safety, and back over the mountains so that he can defend his country from an angry god.

In Adro, Inspector Adamat only wants to rescue his wife. To do so he must track down and confront the evil Lord Vetas. He has questions for Vetas concerning his enigmatic master, but the answers might come too quickly. With Tamas and his powder cabal presumed dead, Taniel Two-shot finds himself alongside the god Mihali as the last line of defence against Kresimir's advancing army.

Tamas's generals bicker among themselves, the brigades lose ground every day beneath the Kez onslaught and Kresimir wants the head of the man who shot him in the eye.

I liked this much better than the first book. Action flowed naturally, narrator was a perfect mach for all the male protagonists! pleasure to listen to when . Author is a lot better a writing about war than writing about intrigue.

Non stop action! I liked this much better than the

Great story, great characters, great storytelling. You have to read it and enjoy it! Period!

Awesome!

I love the story and it is very well read. Only little thing is the not distinguished voices of different characters. Or rather, the changing voices. A lot of men sound the same, the "military type" and it gets confusing when there is more then one present... Bo got a very distinguished voice in this audio book, unfortunately he didn't have one in the last. It's little details like this that are slightly annoying. But over all a very impressive piece of art!

An incredible story

The story picks up where the first ended, but now everybody are much much dumber. As dumb as necessary to make the conflicts happen regardless of previous proof of competence or self control.

Dumb follow up
