Über diesen Titel

The small novella mostly delivers on what you would expect from a mad lancers origin story. Unfortunately the narrator Julie Hoverson makes this audio book a very unpleasant experience - at least for my taste. Most of the time she reads in over-exaggerated, very affected tones. Her performance of Ben Styke sounds more like hoarse Tom Waits than the robust, battle-hardened character he is supposed to be. All in all there seems to be a complete lack of direction, which might have helped her to take the performance down a notch, which would have greatly improved the overall experience.
