Braving perils including—but not limited to—giant air-beasts, grot pirates, and terrible storms, the crew of the Aelsling is sucked into a conspiracy that will see an ancient empire rise again, or fall forever to Chaos...

Mixing over-the-top pirate novels with wacky Kharadron Overlords characters - sounds like a recipe for disaster, but turns out to work just fine! Very light-hearted take on the mighty Kharadron Overlords, including a mixed crew of various factions and alliances (an ogor, even) and everything, a yarn taking place somewhere near Port Royal might desire - but no, wait, it's floating islands and everything, clearly no Port Royal anywhere to be seen, but rivaling families and intrigue nevertheless and everything that goes with it - you get the gist. Compelling story, silly characters, perfect rendition - I'm looking forward for another Drekki Flynt story by Guy Haley.

ein wirklich sehr gelungenes Werk mit packender Geschichte und guten Charakteren. der Humor war stimmig und gut eingesetzt. In vielen Szenen könnte man richtig mitfühlen.
