Based on the newly released personal letters of Albert Einstein, Walter Isaacson explores how an imaginative, impertinent patent clerk, a struggling father in a difficult marriage who couldn't get a teaching job or a doctorate, became the mind reader of the creator of the cosmos, the locksmith of the mysteries of the atom and the universe. His success came from questioning conventional wisdom and marveling at mysteries that struck others as mundane.

In these Messenger Lectures, originally delivered at Cornell University and recorded for television by the BBC, Richard Feynman offers an overview of selected physical laws and gathers their common features into one broad principle of invariance. He maintains at the outset that the importance of a physical law is not "how clever we are to have foundit out but…how clever nature is to pay attention to it" and steers his discussions toward a final exposition of the elegance and simplicity of all scientific laws.

A beautiful mind
Witty and often times surprisingly unprofessorial episodes, stories and musings of a truly interested and alert thinking mind that often times amused me, educated me and restored my faith in science for if this is what scientists are like, forget about bank of Sweden prices, this is what a true teacher of life should be be like. Curious throughout his life!

The reader spoils it for me
When I started listening to this audiobook I was hooked. Clearly the author, Richard P. Feynman, has an exquisit sense of humour and it is so much fun to listen to his nerdy Stories from his time as a student as well as his genius in everyday situations.
Unfortunately, the longer I was listening, the more I was noticing the very unfortunate choice of the reader. When there is tension to build up while telling a story or dryness to apply when making a humorous remark, the reader reliably fails to implement any of it but carries on in his monotonous style like a 10 year old schoolboy, failing to trace an arc for more than one sentence. I really do not understand, how that can be approved with so many good voice actors out there nowadays. I could not get over the first half even, so that I will probably get the book and read it myself in order to get the immersion and comic and knowledge that the book itself offers.

Klare Empfehlung meinerseits also!
Gruß Matthias
