The Ghosts of the Tanith First-and-Only have been away from the front line for too long. Listless and hungry for action, they are offered a mission that perfectly suits their talents.

Good audiobook with a decent stories but some not ended story lines. I really enjoyed the dry Space Marine humor.
I kind of liked the pretty hard Scottish accent of James McPherson and Höhe presented it. I found the Space Marines and cybernetic voices really a bit annoying to listen to though

I like the Ghosts

it's the last before the final story of the Ghosts. As with the last ones already, the stories are getting bigger, more important.
This time, the Ghosts are to infiltrate an arch enemy's structure.
It is a good and fitting scale of story considering all is in preparation of the climax.
But, as per usual, there is a list of characters that did not make it. And it feels, the list is getting longer each book.
The narrator is OK, sometimes a little to much in the action, for my liking, but he does a good job.

unfortunately the narrator obviously didn't listen to the last books - was really jarring to have different accents and worse - different pronunciations for names 😕. Shame because overall I though he did a good job if it would have been a one off book.

Wer nicht 100% fit in Englisch ist wir leiden... der Sprecher ist Schotte (und ja er hat einen starken schottischen Dialekt). Ansonsten nicht der beste Roman aus Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts Reihe, aber trotzdem gut

nichts für Sprachanfänger

Big fan of the ghosts. several hours in for the life of me I cannot get used to the abrupt changes of voices and characters. unrecognizable in comparison to previous books. having pictured all of the characters in roughly 100 hours of audiobooks, I simply cannot continue listening to this or future books. with the current voice acting. I guess I will have to fall back on the books to read the final parts of the ghost's Saga.

Whilst the story itself is passably good, James McPherson is incredibly unfit to narrate this book. The way he portraits certain characters makes them appear ridiculous, unnecessary pauses mid-sentence (for emphasis? Unclear to me why...) irritate, and almost everyone speaking with the same accent let the characters blur into each other. PLEASE get a different voice actor if this series continues!

The VA does his job well, but changing VA in a long running series was not a good choice. Toby Longworth is a 10/10 VA and sadly the change reduces the experience a lot.

Wer die Reihe um Gaunt und seine Geister kennt, wird dieses Hörbuch lieben. Zugegeben. Für Einsteiger ist es vielleicht nicht geeignet. Dafür wird zu wenig aus der Welt von Warhammer erklärt, wie es in anderen Büchern der Fall ist. Gerade das finde ich aber gut, einmal den Fokus auf andere Dinge zu haben.
Toller Roman, ich bin sehr begeistert!

I‘ve finished around 30 black library audiobooks. This speaker is by far the worst, I‘ve encountered. I get mad when I listen to him..
