Willing to do anything to have a second chance with her father, Hanna accompanies Rasmus into the dark and bloody realm, traveling via the River of Shadows, stalked by dangerous creatures, monsters, and the living dead, until they finally come into the haunted kingdom ruled by Death and his family.

I think I would have rated this higher if I had read it on physical copy. The narrator is very talented but between the fear in the beginning and the steamy stuff at the end, it is awkward on audio. The story is good though. A mix of Hades and Persephone, Beauty and the Beast, and ACOMAF. Loved the Finnish twist.

This was one of the best audio books I have listened to lately. The reading was expressive, the dessert were great. storyline really good, was disappointed how it ended but then realised there is a part 2.
