Über diesen Titel
After the death of my mother and her Bonded, I was relieved to find my own Bonds.
I was sure everything would be okay if I had them.
It wasn’t.
The fate of our people is in my hands, and I know we’re better off if I’m alone.
After five years on the run, I’m caught and dragged back to face the men I ran away from.
I thought I was doing the right thing.
Now, I’m not so sure.
North, Nox, Gryphon, Atlas, and Gabe may never forgive me, but one thing is for sure.
I won’t ever forgive myself.
Broken Bonds is a full-length reverse harem PNR novel with material that may be difficult for some listeners. This book will end on a cliff-hanger. It's recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations. Book 1 of 6.

it's interesting enough, I finished the whole series, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Boring and repetitive

While there were parts that I enjoyed, it was also lacking a lot. It got a bit boring atsome point. I really just finished it because I was already halfway through the series. But I now feel like it was a waste of money. Since it was also pretty long with all of the 6 books. The fights ended most of the times in a way that you were left thinking why would the enemy leave now. It came a little too easy every time even though it was spoken about it a big way.
I do like steamy book, but somehow the sex description did not really convince me, or at least it was not for me overall. Too rushed and hard (which is okay, but it was always like that without one exception). Overall extremely unrealistic (which is okay, it's a book after all, but i prefer it at least a little more real). There was definitely a loot of sex in the later books, but I've seen worse in other romantasy series.
I also was very triggered by the way the sexual assault was handled. While I don't think it an authors assignment to take into account what triggers all people could have, I felt veeery uncomfortable reading everything that had to do with it. I know it's part of the bonding story that the bonds want each other very strongly even if the person may not, but sentences like you didn't say no or I could have pushed you away, I am also partly at fault, is so much victim blaming, that I felt like puking. We have enough of that in the real world, and I don't need reading stuff like that without clarification about it.
Also, the jealousy was just way too much for me. I already know this kind of jealousy from other bonding, shifter, alpha male romantasy books. So it's not something that is uncommon, but in this series, honestly it was too much for my taste (but I must say in real life I find jealousy abhorrent and don't think it's a sign of love or whatever).
The speakers were doing a very good job overall. Wasn't a big fan of the male speaker, but I can't pinpoint why, so I think it was more sympathy than how well he did it.
Overall I was just bored and annoyed in several parts, but it wasn't so bad that I would stop. I can definitely see how someone could like the story. The idea was nice.
Spoiler: specially in the last book I felt like the author was grasping for problems. It felt sudden that oli felt so remorseful about taking the lifes. While yes before she was talking about having a monster inside here/being a monster/being a murderer, specially about her parents, most of the time her reaction to the battles was, I will not feel bad about protecting my bonds. Etc. So it felt very unnatural.
It's not bad but also wouldnt recommend
