Beeindruckendes Hörbuch von Jeremy Renner, das der Autor mit seiner amerikanischen Stimme ziemlich flott vorträgt. Er scheint auch im realen Leben ein Energiebündel zu sein und spiegelt das beim Schreiben und Lesen. Jeremy ist authentisch, überzeugend und liest mit Enthusiasmus.
Inhaltlich ruft er trotz schwerster Verletzungen an keiner Stelle zum Mitleid auf, bewegend allerdings, wie er seine Familie und vor allem seine Tochter Ava ins Boot holt. Die Begegnung nach längerer Genesungszeit mit seiner Ersthelferin Barb ist besonders eindrücklich gelesen.
Schön auch die positive Wendung am Schluss mit Stiftung und Pflegekindern.

Was für ein Buch, was für ein unglaubliches Ereignis und welchen erstaunlichen Effekt es hatte. Ich war vor dem Unfall nicht einmal Fan. Aber sein Umgang mit der Situation von Anfang an hat mich derart beeindruckt, dass ich sehr froh, war als ich hörte Jeremy hat die Geschichte für die Welt erzählt.

Er macht das großartig und versteckt auch nicht, wenn Emotionen seine Stimme schwanken lassen.

Das ganze Buch ist eine Erinnerung an die Dinge die wirklich zählen und an die Kraft, die in uns steckt.

What an experience this man went through! Well read with excerpts from the actual audio on accident scene. Mainly covers the accident and the aftermath with heavy emphasis on his perceived impact on family and how his internal motivation before and after helped him persevere. As audiobook the ‘read’ was worth it but I don’t think I would have read the paper version.

What an inspiring book in every way!
So much strength and willpower to live for his daughter and his family. I have never heard or seen such a strong bond with his own family before.
Jeremy is so personal and emotional when he narrates that everyone should listen to the audiobook instead of reading a hard copy.
Unimaginable how someone can survive such a serious incident and write a book about it in such a short time.
