having read several books about this time and country, lived in SA and visited Zim and Zambia and talked to people there, I have found Peter Godwin's book one of the best accounts of the civil war in former Rodesia : it is a well-written and captivating book, a mix of personal memoir, history book and thriller. Listening to it read by the author was even better for me than reading the printed version of the book some years ago. This author's books never disappoint.
