In this genre there are few that match the wit and depth of these books. Too bad he didn’t get to write a lot more

All time classic

All in all the The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a great piece of art. The first two books, however, a in my opinion by far the best. This last book still is a great read and Martin Freedman without any doubt a good narrator (although I personally liked Stephen Fry in the first book better).

Good End to a great trilogy of five books!

Das beste Ende einer unendlichen Geschichte, das man sich vorstellen kann. Ich habe das Buch bereits mehrfach im original gelesen und nutze dieses Hörbuch jetzt als "Gute-Nacht-Geschichtenerzähler"
Es ist so schade, daß D.A. nicht mehr unter uns ist, aber zumindest habt Ihr einen würdigen Interpreten für seine Stories bekommen.
Dies gilt natürlich für alle fünf Bände der Trilogie. Danke

Best Story, best Reader

The book is well read by Martin Freeman.

However, if one came here expecting to have a good laugh and be a bit weirded out as is usual with Douglas Adams, they might leave only 50 percent satisfied.

The worlds are as weird and creative as ever and it certainly doesn't get boring. However, a much darker and bleaker outlook on live than previously is felt strongly within all the elements of the story and one feels quite disheartened at the end of it.

Such a damn shame and tragedy Mr. Adam's never got to write another one. Still, for fans of the series, this one shouldn't be missed either.

The bleakest in the series

It takes a lot of concentration to listen to this book. The reader did well in transmitting the book in a fluid way though difficult to follow. I felt like I was missing the second half of the book, it stops abruplty without you expecting the story line to end.
