Der Sprecher ist großartig und hat der Geschichte eine unglaubliche Tiefe und Chataktervielfalt gegeben.
Die Geschichte hat mir dabei aus Edwards Perspektive fast besser gefallen als aus Bellas, besonders die Interaktionen der Cullens miteinander haben für die Orginal-Geschichte eine ganz neue Dimension erschaffen.

Mir Persönlich gefällt dieses Buch fast besser als Twilight und ich würde mir wünschen es gäbe sie alle 4 aus seiner Sicht. Vieles wird so viel verständlicher.

Erst war es komisch die alten Twilight Zeiten wieder aufleben zu lassen und dann bin ich ganz schnell wieder in diese Welt eingetaucht.
Schön, nun einen Abschluss des Ganzen zu haben und das Buch nun endlich fertig zu hören, nachdem vor Jahren der Anfang veröffentlicht wurde.
Ich fand es damals schon interessant Edwards Sicht zu lesen und mehr Hintergrundinformation zu erhalten. Nun also die ganze Geschichte.
Hat Spaß gemacht, auch wenn Edward zeitweise nervt mit seinem Selbsthass und Negativität, aber das weiß man ja schon von den anderen Büchern und selbst Stephenie Mayer hat dies ja sogar gesagt. ;-)
Und trotzdem würde mich so manches mehr aus seiner Sicht interessieren, da man ja noch viel mehr erfährt durch seine Fähigkeit Gedanken zu lesen.
Jake Abel fand ich als Sprecher klasse! Deutlich und gut verständlich.

the stream of speech is broken three times during the audiobook and each time is highly disturbing. each time, for a few words, it sounds like a different speaker.

Meyer managed to write Edward convincingly as the depressed 17 aka over a 100 years old vampire he is, his inner monologue was interesting to listen to and the voice they chose for him was absolutely perfect! He did have some trouble speaking as Bellas at first but quickly found a way to read her voice in a less annoying, more fitting way that suits her character well. I haven't managed to read a full book in a while and this is the first audiobook I've ever listened too and it was truly a bliss.

Edward is a predator ... not because he's a vampire but because he's torturing his listeners with unending boredom. You just wish it will come to an end but it drags on and on and on.
I seriously pity the unfortunate guy who had to read it out.

Before I say anything else: Jake Abel did a great job. He conveyed Edward's emotions (if he decided to have any) perfectly. It is great listening to him and if you want to you can use his calming voice to fall asleep but he's also great at keeping you engaged. I was only ever bored because of the story and never because of him.
The story. Was pretty boring. The insights we get into different characters minds is very interesting and the additional information about the Cullens and their meetings and interactions is obviously great. But I have to admit that I don't think that Bella and Edward are very interesting. Throughout the chapters I caught myself wishing for Edward to stop being such a horrible emo boy. I'm still annoyed that he refused to turn Bella even though she clearly wanted him to. Carlisle and Charlie are hands down the best characters.

If you enjoyed the original books, you'll probably like this one. And if you're here to enjoy the shit-show that is Edward Cullen's mind then you'll enjoy yourself too.

Why did we like this story again?

So glad this book made it into the world after all this time! Edward's take on the invents is anything but a mere repetition of known events, it puts everything in a new and exciting light. Like Bella I never understood what made him fall in love with her in the first place, now I understand completely. Well written! Like with all the other Twilight books I couldn't put it down and now that I've rushed through it I regret having finished it already. Off to start my second round right away. Please give us more! I'd love to experience books 2 to 4 from Edward's point of view and maybe some of the other characters' adventures as well. Alice's and Jasper's journey towards one another and their journey to find the Cullens - would be a dream come true!

Endlich mal eine wunderbare Stimme passend zum Buch! Wär sehr schön, wenn die übrigen vier Bände ebenfalls nochmals neu mit Jake Abel als Sprecher aufgelegt würden. Hier hört man wirklich mit Vergnügen zu.
Natürlich wäre es auch schön, die übrigen drei Bände nochmals aus dieser Perspektive zu lesen, schliesslich ist die Sichtweise ja schon unterschiedlich und was die Cullens in New Moon so erlebt haben, bleibt ja doch immer noch ein Geheimnis. Ich hoffe hier einfach mal weiter.
Die Story bleibt eben auch nach vielen Jahren noch schön und wenn man nicht, wie heutzutage leider üblich, alles auf die Goldwaage legt, so bleibt es eine wunderbare Liebesgeschichte.
