Imagine waking from a three-year coma in an abandoned hospital, on an Earth that has recently fused with a different dimension.
Last I remember I was saving my high school crush from the path of an oncoming truck. Now I'm a skin-and-bones weakling wearing nothing but my hospital gown. Oh yeah, the world is also full of monsters, and I'm the only human left.
It turns out a godlike System evacuated humanity but decided to leave the vegetable in the bed. From the moment my parents named me Lex Lurker, I was destined to be ignored. Everyone else has received a chance to prepare for what's to come in the Tutorial. I've only gotten a snarky talking cat for a companion.
I could crawl into a corner and wait to get eaten by a kobold, but after years of being asleep, I have a new appreciation for feeling alive. And for all the chaos, there are game-like rules and magical powers that could help me avoid becoming a meal and perhaps even thrive in this hellscape.
But first I'll have to find the tenacity to survive, the courage to fight, and the strength to face some dark truths about myself. Whispered voices call me the Hope of Humanity, but it turns out I might be the villain of this story.

The writing style needs some work
I like the protagonist. It is made clear what he is good at and what he struggles with. The inability to speak out loud is getting somewhat annoying, but not a deal breaker. I assume that this weakness is getting some development later on.
The story is nothing special. Have seen other stories do similar things. It is serviceable but could need some spice.
The writing style has some problems with pacing of scenes. There is a lot of dry exposition. For example, When the protagonist had to drink a potion in an emergency where seconds mattered, the nation stopped the action to read out the item description. Even if the text says afterwards that the protagonist barely glanced at the description, it makes the flow of the scene run into a wall. Another example is how fight scenes are organized. The enemies that the protagonist is shooting only get a description of reacting to him after he shot them 10-20 times. This makes it feel like a turn based rpg where every actor waits for their signal to move.
There are too many rank systems that essentially all mean the power is growing. There is the normal level by numbers, but also a letter based ranking, as well as a metal based one, i.e. steel, bronce, silver etc, but also affinities that grow in percentages. This could have been streamlined.
The speaker is relatively good. I just don't like his choice in how he reads out item descriptions. He used an unsure voice, as if he had trouble chaining the words. I understand why he is doing so, it just sounds like somebody is reading a script to me.

I heard only a few chapters and refunded
Positives:
The monsters are more interesting than is usual in a system apocalypse.
Negatives:
There are inconsistencies in the logic of the story, On one hand he is completely stumped and has only ever heard of rpgs but on the other he seems quite literate in rpg vocabulary,
Step consistently uses an odd phrase when talking about attributes: "The greater is it the stronger you get"(or sth. along the lines).
I found all "female" voices (voiced by G. Barnett) quite annoying. Even the supposed love interest.
